Medical Access for All

MWK students, teachers, and area residents are in an underserved medical area. The local hospital is crowded and not easily accessible. To make sure our community has easier access to medical care, TEF helped to build a medical facility, Modern Medics Clinic Tanzania.

The Covid pandemic impeded the opening of the clinic for general use. The building is complete, awaiting government permits to open. Currently, TEF is seeking funding for clinic materials and equipment.

When complete, Modern Medics will offer access to medical services for students and staff as well as the surrounding community, offering:

  • Medical attention for students and staff at Margery Wolf Kuhn Schools and the surrounding community
  • Offices and facilities for visiting specialists to treat patients on-site, near their homes and families
  • Community outreach programs that provide health information and education about diseases and preventative measures, with an emphasis on reaching area youth
  • Distribution of items such as eyeglasses

The clinic building was underwritten with grants from the W. O’Neil Foundation and the Carney Family Foundation.
